Synod 2022

This year the theme for Synod, “Let us Hear”, was based on the parable of the Sower passage in Matthew 13:9. A range of contemplative worship practices were employed to better hear the voice of God.

Earlier this year Bishop Mark Vainikka presented on this topic to LCANZ District Administrators. We thought you might also find it helpful.

At our annual Convention of Synod, delegates and visitors  came to celebrate who we are and where we’ve been in the past year.

Throughout Synod 2022 we were blessed to have chaplains praying for the presenters and for their ministries.

Attendees at the Synod dinner, heard from leaders from the Beyond Church Plant at Griffin: Chris Podlich and Molly McLean. 

Worship services and devotions were held throughout the Synod program. All devotion times followed both the synod theme and a contemplative style.

The Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District (LCAQD) will undergo a restructure to become a ‘company limited by guarantee’ following a historic vote by Synod delegates.

LLL CEO Ross Smith presented the LLL $25,000 Mission Outreach Grant, which will be shared by two congregations who are responding in different ways to their unique contexts.
