LCAQD Convention of the Synod

At our annual Convention of the Synod, delegates and visitors gather to celebrate who we are and where we've been in the past year. As the agencies of the Lutheran Church Queensland District, we gather together to discern, through prayer and conversation, where God may be leading us in the years ahead.

So while it's our District’s Annual General Meeting, the opportunity to worship together and to connect over food and conversation is just as important for the health of the LCAQD as the business decisions.

2026 LCAQD Convention of the Synod announced

We’re pleased to share that the District Church Board has confirmed the dates for the 58th LCAQD Convention of the Synod.

The convention will take place from Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June 2026 at St Andrew’s Lutheran College, Tallebudgera on the beautiful Gold Coast.

Please take note of the timing schedule below:

Friday 5 June: Registrations open 7:30am; Synod business 9:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday 6 June: Registrations open 7:30am; Synod business 8:30am – 5:00pm
Sunday 7 June: Sunday morning worship: 9:00am (no further business after worship). You are invited to join us for morning tea after the service, at St Andrew's Lutheran Church.

St Andrews Tallebudgera

Friday night dinner function speaker

Making your mark: The St Andrews Journey

Mr Luke Schoff is the fifth Principal of St Andrews Lutheran College, bringing more than two decades of experience as a values-driven educational leader across Lutheran schools in Australia and international schools in Japan and China.

Luke holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of South Australia and postgraduate qualifications in Educational Leadership from Australian Catholic University. Before returning to St Andrews — the College where he began his career — Luke served as Principal of St James Lutheran College, Hervey Bay, and previously as Deputy Principal at Immanuel Primary School in Adelaide.

Grounded in servant leadership, Luke is deeply committed to nurturing each student’s God‑given abilities and inspiring young people to serve others with confidence, compassion, and purpose. Outside of school, Luke enjoys honing his home‑chef skills, supporting the road and track cycling pursuits of his two sons, and cheering on Carlton in the AFL (they need it!).

Luke will be joined by St Andrews’ founding Principal, Mr Wolf Stuetzel (1992–1999). Together, they will share insights into the St Andrews journey, in a conversation ably facilitated by Lutheran Education Australia Executive Director, Ms Jodie Hoff.
