When you travel, do you unpack your bags?… That may sound like a personal question. It’s not meant to be! For many of our churches across Queensland, COVID-19 worship moved us into a space of discovering whether we are an unpacker or a packer.
Might this be an opportunity for Australian followers of Jesus to reflect on what is truly important in our mission and witness of the Gospel, and to find new ways in which to engage with our community?
How do we engage with each other and the proclamation of the gospel during such a time of crisis? Worship is God coming to us (incarnationally) to heal, equip, empower and encourage us in our day-to-day mission!
Are you feeling a nudge to step in a new direction? If your Lutheran community has some ideas as to how to engage your wider community with sharing Jesus, then take that vision to your Church Council or Board, and apply for the Mission Outreach Grant!
Aub Muller, who passed September 2019, was above all a faithful servant of God and of the Lutheran Church. Any listing of his achievements in the secular and business world reveals the many skills and talents which he also put at the service of the church he loved.
