Synod

Ahead of the 2026 Convention of the Synod, the LCAQD Office will be hosting a number of online information sessions to assist delegates.

With only a few months to go until the upcoming Convention of the Synod, we are seeking volunteers to assist in a range of roles to ensure the event runs smoothly and successfully.

Entry to the Synod Art Competition is being made easier for rural and remote artists, with more ways to make submissions from afar.

Thanks were offered to everyone who helped make the 2025 Convention of Synod a success, including our wonderful volunteers.  

On Synod Saturday morning, Bishop Mark Vainikka reflected on his written report, and spoke of the District’s guiding principle: One Church, One Purpose, Many Ministries. 

Following the Friday morning opening Synod worship, the following leaders from Qld and FNQ greeted the convention.

St Andrews Lutheran Church, Brisbane, will receive $25,000 from LLL for its ‘Diverse by Design’ outreach to multcultural communities.

This year’s Synod will be held at Peace Lutheran College, 50-60 Cowley St, Kamerunga, Cairns,  Friday 30 May-Sunday 1 June 2025.
