District Church Board Report and Proposals

The District Church Board report was taken as read and received by delegates. 

The following proposals were considered during this session:

• to slightly modify the wording of the motion from the 2022 Convention of Synod regarding two practices of ordination for the LCANZ General Convention of Synod 2023. The intent of the original motion did not change (carried).
• to approve the ‘Managing historic sexual abuse claims made against LCAQD congregations’ policy and that Synod instructs DCB to implement the policy at their earliest opportunity (carried)
• to approve the draft LCAQD Budget Planning Policy (carried).
• to approve the DCB to oversee, resource and report back to the 2023 Synod on the Ministry and Service Pathways Committee’s audit of the LCAQD ministry and service training and formation activities, and progress on the establishment of a contextualised development framework for mission-aligned service (carried).
