We have just elected a new Bishop for the Lutheran Church in Queensland and two new assistant Bishops. Bishop Paul Smith celebrates this election and these “servants of the Word”: Ben, Mark and Nathan.

The theme for the 2019 Queensland District Synod is ‘Lord Teach us to Pray’. The St John’s congregation in Hope Vale decided to take this a step further and make it our church theme for the recent NAIDOC (National Aboriginal Islanders Day Observance Committee) celebrations.

Delegates at this year’s LCAQD Synod recycled 364 bottles of drinks, filling three huge bags to recycle to go towards filling 182 empty tummies.
