Living Faithfully

We draw our collective breaths at atrocities committed on the world stage. When challenges occur closer to home however, the pain becomes personal.

In church we are reminded that we are children of the light. However the peace from believing this has often eluded me.

Anzac Day is perhaps the most ‘holy’ day of the year in modern secular Australia. We get up early to remember. We make pilgrimages—some even to the distant shores of Gallipoli.

Once again, humanity greets Easter amid ongoing conflicts and the displacement of people across the globe. Many suffer in the shadow of war, others are uprooted due to strife, and some face the aftermath of natural disasters, such as our community in Wujal Wujal.

Servant Sunday is a common practice in many churches, but it sparks in me feelings I would rather not have.

You are made this way to reach out to others with his love, in just the way he wants you to. You are God’s Wanted!

As humans, we connect with places. Our memories of churches often relate to significant points in our lives, memories that sometimes go back for generations.
