Season of Creation resources

Season of Creation (1 September-4 October) is a time for Christians to come together in prayer and action for God’s creation. The season is celebrated as an alternative to the regular time after Pentecost. Season of Creation is an ecumenical response to the environmental crisis impacting the world. Each year has a particular themed focus connected with an aspect to the environment, to raise awareness and inspire responsible environmental action.

Season of Creation Resources

• The following worship resources have been prepared in collaboration with Lutheran Earth Care Australia and New Zealand, endeavouring to point God’s people to the hope that we have in the midst of environmental chaos: Christ as the Redeemer of the world, who sustains all things by his powerful word, and will make all things new: https://www.lca.org.au/worship/wpp/seasonal-season-of-creation-2026/
• Queensland Churches Environmental Network (QCEN) Season of Creation App:  The app features a prayer and devotion for each day in Season of Creation.  It will be available from the App store or via Google Play by 1 September. Alternatively you can download a pdf version free.  For those who prefer a physical book a limited number of books have been printed and are available for $10 each plus postage. • A short video highlighting some of the past photos celebrating creation submitted to QCEN:  The video could be used within, at the start or end of a service during Season of Creation or on Creation Sunday.
• Special Season of Creation Service: All are welcome to join in a special outdoor prayer service at 11am on  Monday 1 September at Lychee Tree Lawn, Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. Details are on the flyer above.
