Faithful living

‘The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made’ Psalm 145:13b (NIV).

God asks us to be faithful to Him. How can I be full of faith in a world where minds are changed as often as socks? Where world powers can just decide that today we will invade another country? Where nothing seems certain anymore? God asks us to rely on Him when we can rely on no others. In Psalm 36:5 we read, “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.”

Gods love and faithfulness is limitless to us – so how do we be faithful to Him? The Holy Spirit has given us the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ – which cannot be achieved on our own. Through the chaos of life, we can rely on the Holy Spirit as a sap which runs through us giving us the strength and confidence to face each day. This sap connects us to the tree of Jesus Christ, allowing us to then produce these fruits of the Spirit and produce Christ-like responses to all we meet. LOVE, JOY and PEACE show the relationship we have with God. PATIENCE, KINDNESS and GOODNESS are for our relationship with others and imitate God’s love for us. FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTROL are the actions of our inner self that we convey to others.
