Shaping Mission in 21st Century Australia & New Zealand
The eight sessions will each be 2hrs long with a short break in the middle, in August and September.
It will be held by Zoom over two hours on Thursday evenings. The time will be
9.30–11.30pm in New Zealand,
7.30-9.30pm in Eastern Australia,
7.00-9.00pm in SA and the NT, and
5.30-7.30pm in WA.
Here is a brief overview of our plans for the course:
We will see how we fit into God’s mission to his world.
Together, we will seek to help each participant finish the course with:
- A better understanding of joining the Spirit in walking with someone on their journey to faith; and
- The beginnings of a concrete approach to shaping mission in each person’s context.
7 August: God has purposely planted you where you are, and it’s the 21st Century!
14 August: If God has given you a few people, that is all you need. Dare to dream!
21 August: God invites you to join his mission to his world. Walking with others on their journey to faith.
28 August: Sense-making in our fallen, rebellious, broken world. Communicating in today’s cultures.
4 September: Called to lead when you don’t yet know the road you need to take.
11 September: God is making all things new. Facilitating effective missional change in congregations.
18 September: Every Journey begins from where you are. Discerning your next steps.
25 September: Bringing it all together—Where to from here? Blossoming where God has planted us.

Cost and Registration
The cost for the course is $175 for the first person attending from a congregation or team of people exploring mission opportunities, and $50 for each additional person. When you gather together in one place to participate, you can use discussion times to work together to discern your next steps. This cost covers eight 2-hour sessions. Congregations are encouraged to cover or contribute to the cost.
