Pastor Regularisation
Pastor Regularisation
On May 4, the LCAQD celebrated the regularisation of Pastor Ed Shoesmith at Hervey Bay. So, what is regularisation? In the words of Bishop Mark:
“The graduate pastor program aims to enable new pastors during the first two years of their pastoral ministry to receive support, guidance, and opportunity for further growth and development under their bishop’s supervision. The process of regularisation of a graduate pastor in the Lutheran Church of Australia affirms the call given to the graduate pastor by the calling parish when a graduate pastor was assigned to a parish by the College of Bishops. Through the regularisation process, the parish affirms the call they initially offered the graduate pastor, receiving them as their regularly called pastor.”
