Heads of Churches open letter regarding recent antisemitic attacks
I have signed an open letter from the Heads of Churches expressing solidarity with the Australian Jewish community in response to recent antisemitic attacks. While Queensland has not been as severely affected as other parts of Australia, we acknowledge that antisemitism, once thought foreign to this nation, remains a persistent threat.
Having visited sites such as Buchenwald in Germany, I believe the letter accurately portrays antisemitism as an irrational hatred—a dormant plague that has re-emerged in the wake of global conflict. The Jewish community in Queensland has widely shared the letter, which you may also read here.
