Lenten Dream
Lenten Dream
When I was a child
Everything
Cried out
‘Holy, Holy, Holy’.
The grass was so green
Displaying the Creator’s hand
And the Christmas Tree
Shining
Not hiding
The Birth of the Messiah
But now
Here I am
Sitting
Crying
Holding in my hands dry twigs
So fragile that they almost
Turn into ash
And I cry
And my tears drop down
Into my hands where
The dry memories of past life
Turn into a Cross
And like Aaron’s rod
The Cross in my hands
Blooms
With blood red flowers
Crying again
‘Holy, Holy, Holy’.
