Bethlehem opens its doors

At the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Woongoolba we opened our doors to the community by welcoming schools, principals, service clubs, professional services, sporting organisations, farmers, manufacturing businesses, logistics companies and more to join us for a Community Thanksgiving Service.

Therefore on a magnificent sunny winter morning the church filled with families and friends. Bible readings and personal prayers were shared by parliamentarians, followed by more readings by our children and youth.

Various representatives were able to light candles to acknowledge their role in the community.

Pastor Mark Gierus welcomed everyone with words of encouragement for the Community. The congregation met for the first time 150 years ago and we reflected upon that history, rejoicing together with the community in a spirit of collaboration as we worshipped!

Following the service we enjoyed a sausage sizzle and morning tea and lots of good community fellowship.
