2026 Australian Census: recording your religion

The Australian Census will be held on Tuesday 11 August 2026. Question 24 asks about each person’s religion. This question is optional.

As Lutheran is not included among the listed denominations, members who choose to answer the question are encouraged to enter ‘Lutheran’ in the ‘Other—please specify’ box. Doing so will help ensure that Lutherans are accurately represented in the Census.
