Woodridge origin stories
Woodridge origin stories
The story of Lutheran Services in Woodridge began with local congregations coming together to create a place of care for their community.
From these early efforts, Trinder Park Aged Care was established on donated land in the 1960s, supported by church members who gave their time, resources and commitment to bring it to life.
Over time, this has grown into a wider community of care in Woodridge – including retirement living, home care, and community services such as Keystone, Bridges and Karawatha.
Today, Lutheran Services is exploring the Origin Stories of its services in Woodridge, inviting those connected to this community to help capture the stories that shaped them.
What are origin stories?
Origin Stories captures the memories and experiences of people who have been part of Lutheran Services – including congregation members, staff, residents, volunteers and community supporters.
This work brings together Lutheran Services and the Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District to reflect on where we have come from and where we are going together.

A community that stays connected
A theme already emerging is the way people have remained connected over time.
Many have been part of this community across different stages of life – through church, volunteering, work, family, and later as residents or clients. In early conversations, a common reflection has emerged: people didn’t just come to Trinder Park – they stayed connected to it.
We are especially hoping to hear from those involved in the early years of Trinder Park, so these memories are not lost.
