Chaplains blessed at Sunday service

On Sunday 1 February 2026 Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, the Apostle – Brisbane City hosted the blessing of the hospital chaplains, presided over by Rev Dr Russell Briese, Director of Chaplaincy and Ministry Development.

Lutheran hospital chaplains provide pastoral care, comfort and presence to patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments. This year, the service was joined by LLL Australia CEO Karen Pienaar, who gifted communion kits to chaplains so that patients in hospital can receive communion.

Our prayers and gratitude go out to our chaplains, for the love of Christ ‘shed abroad’ to those in need. Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV): ‘…I was sick and you looked after me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did…you did for me.’
