Lutheran Services celebrates 50 years at Trinity Community Services
Lutheran Services celebrates 50 years at Trinity Community Services
On 5 September, Trinity Community Services at Bundall marked half a century of supporting people with disabilities on the Gold Coast.
What began in the early 1970s with Pastor Martin Prenzler and the Trinity Lutheran congregation — powered by working bees, cake stalls, and volunteer spirit — has grown into a much-loved Lutheran Services community service supporting around 20 clients and their families today.
The anniversary service and celebration honoured this vision and the many who have given their time, gifts and prayers over the decades.
Clients, staff, volunteers, families, and community friends gathered to honour that vision and the many who have contributed over the years. We were blessed to welcome Bishop Mark Vainikka, Angie Bell MP, Rob Molhoek MP, Council for Lutheran Services Chair, Jenny Danslow and Lutheran Services CEO Nick Ryan.
We were especially honoured to have members of the Prenzler family, Professor Tim and his wife Linda and Thea Prenzler and Mr Guenther Nembach, Trinity’s first manager. Their presence connected Trinity’s past with its vibrant present.
We also recognised the dedication of our staff and volunteers, led locally by Regional Manager Jules De Wit, who continue to make Trinity a place of belonging, joy and connection. The celebration featured creative gifts from our clients, a petting zoo, live music and plenty of fun — a true reflection of the community of belonging, joy and connection that Trinity represents.
As we look back with gratitude, we also look forward in hope. May the next 50 years of Trinity continue to reflect the love of Christ through service, belonging and shared joy.
