LCAQD Convention of the Synod: last days to book

To book a place at the 57th Annual LCAQD Convention of the Synod, please do so by 12 noon on Friday, 16 May 2025. Book your spot here: https://tinyurl.com/3tszbzyp Please note: it will not be possible to secure a spot after these closing dates, or to register on the day.

This year’s Synod will be held at Peace Lutheran College, 50-60 Cowley St, Kamerunga, Cairns,  Friday 30 May-Sunday 1 June 2025. With an early start on Friday, it is recommended to arrive in Cairns on the Thursday prior.

Book of Reports
Please see the Synod web page to download the Book of Reports, the Supplement Report, and department videos. The Book of Reports will be available after 9 May and the Supplement after 23 May. Department videos will be uploaded as they are received prior to Synod.

Synod offering
The 2025 Convention of the Synod offering will go to Peace Lutheran College Service-Learning Program.

Art competition
The 2025 Synod Art Competition is now closed, and we received an amazing 37 entries across six categories. Winners will be advised prior to the convention.  Submissions may be viewed on the Synod page.

Synod dinner
Our speaker for the Synod Friday night dinner function is Shane Jurecky, Principal of Peace Lutheran College Cairns. Shane has worked in Lutheran education for the past 30 years. He will be presenting a short history of Lutheran education in Far North Queensland, entitled “Christ in the cane fields – 30 years of Lutheran education in Cairns.”
