Gold Coast church plant a community of grace

Gold Coast church plant a community of grace

Gold Coast Cantonese Community Church Grace Congregation (formerly known as Gold Coast Grace Christian Church) was the first Cantonese-speaking community church planted in the Gold Coast, Queensland. Pastor Ronald Lee is an LCA-ordained pastor. In February 2024, Pastor Ronald shared his vision to replant the Chinese ministry on the Gold Coast.

Although we were unable to secure a sending church to oversee the ministry, Bishop Mark Vainikka and Pastor David Schmidt graciously encouraged us to rent Southport Trinity to begin the church planting ministry on the Gold Coast. We are very grateful to the Southport Trinity Church Council for allowing us to use their facilities. Thus, we held our first Saturday service at Southport Trinity on 11 May 2024.

Pastor Ronald has served as our honorary pastor, guiding the growth of the church. By God’s grace, around 35 people have attended our Saturday services over the past year, with 15–20 attending regularly. We also welcomed 55 newcomers last year.

On 19 April 2025, we celebrated our first infant baptism during the Easter Service—an important milestone for our church and a powerful witness to God’s grace.

In addition, we established a Family Service Centre, which has offered various community activities and played a pivotal role in outreach. It has helped increase public awareness of our church and build stronger ties with the local community.

Previously, we have organized events such as the Full Moon Festival night rally, a Christmas Day service and luncheon, and community day trips.

We pray that our church will continue to witness God’s love and grace in the community, and that more unchurched people will come to know Christ and become God’s children.
