Synod 2025 to have new session times

The District Church Board are pleased to announce that dates have been set for the 57th LCAQD Convention of the Synod, which will be held from 30 May-1 June 2025, at Peace Lutheran College Cairns. With many delegates needing to travel a greater distance, there has been a slight alteration to the timing of the Synod sessions this year.

“Rather than our usual starting time of late on a Friday afternoon, sessions will begin early on Friday morning. This means that most delegates will need to arrive in Cairns by Thursday 29th May, in order to make the early start on Friday,” Linda Thomson, LCAQD Event Coordinator explained.

This means that both Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May will be full days for the business of the Synod, which will conclude after worship on Sunday morning 1st June.

Delegates are also being urged to book their accommodation as soon as possible, with a major international sporting event occurring on the same weekend as the Convention.

The Synod Art Competition and the much-enjoyed sponsored coffees will be happening again this year, thanks to the generosity of LLL Australia. Synod Delegates and guests will be kept energised over the 2-day event with delicious coffee served by both the hospitality students at Peace Lutheran College and LLL staff.
