Announcing the LCAQD Mission Development Fund

• Would you like to financially support mission within the LCAQD, but don’t know where to start?
• Are you facing a congregational closure, and wondering how your heritage of sharing our Gospel hope might live on? How might your assets – property and funds – provide a springboard to support the next things God is doing in mission among us?
• Has your congregation noticed a mission opportunity within your local community? Could you do with some extra funding to make it happen?

The LCAQD has a strong heritage of people pulling together as a team toward a missional purpose – each sharing their gifts and resources. We thank God that today over 200 ‘Communities of Grace’ operate under the LCAQD banner as ‘One Church with One Purpose and Many Ministries.’

As times change, missional approaches that once worked well no longer work in the same way. It makes sense to consider our strengths and how we might use them to share the same gospel in new ways.

In the past, a generous donor left us a monetary legacy to support LCAQD missional development. Individuals and congregations have since added to this fund. We’ve reviewed the mission fund rules to meet our current and future needs: The LCAQD Mission Development Fund exists to support the missional development of Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District (LCAQD) congregations by helping to fund activities that enable congregations to engage people with God’s love in everyday life – within their local communities.

Grants from the fund complement LLL Mission Grant funding, allowing us as a Mission team to say ‘yes’ to supporting more mission projects. The fund rules quarantine any donations for LCAQD mission purposes, while allowing future leaders discretion about how best to use the funds for the purpose of Mission from time to time.

Three quarters of all donations are invested to produce ongoing income, while one quarter of all donations is available for immediate support of congregational mission projects.
