Replenish & Grace Laced Retreat
They say the days are long but the years are short…and that certainly feels true of 2022. Somehow the midpoint of the shortest day of the year is in the rear view, and thoughts are turning towards the warmer months, and hope.
For some of us, hope has been hard to come by this year. Droughts and flooding devastation, the dreaded “spicy cough” that we joke about – all the while feeling a creeping anxiety that lingers in the back of our thoughts…all these things on top of the usual highlights and lowlights of what it means to be human…well, it puts a whole new spin on the term ‘contend with’, doesn’t it?
Wouldn’t it be good to set it all aside for a moment and just breathe, pray, laugh, and rest? The Replenish & Grace Laced Retreats for women are for that very purpose, and I suspect we couldn’t need them more. I think they’re relatively inexpensive for what they provide, with options to suit most budgets and almost all food included. Best of all they’re unstructured, which means you can do whatever you like – whatever it is you need to do – to help you feel like you again. Replenish is open to all women over 18, while Grace Laced is especially for pastors’ wives.
Past participant Rachel Schilling wrote of last year’s retreat, “Somehow in this gift of time apart where there are no demands on my time, no requirements to ‘do’ – simply come and ‘be’ – I find my body, soul and spirit has the time to take a breather. The slow and quiet takes rest a little deeper.”
You cannot pour from an empty cup, as ‘they’ say. Come and spend some time with God, some time with friends, some time with yourself. Return refreshed. Come away, and be replenished!
