Ministry and Mission council chair Carl Eckermann opened the presentation. He spoke briefly of the outcomes the governance review process will mean for the Ministry and Mission Department.
Acting Director Kathy Matuschka spoke about Synod meaning “walking together.” The team gives thanks for the congregations and their colleagues at the Milton office with whom they have the privilege to walk alongside in God’s mission.
They also acknowledged other networks who contribute to ministry and mission in the LCAQD, such as Lutheran Women Queensland, men’s shed networks and Friends of Lutheran Archives.
Congregations participated in the National Church Life Survey at the end of 2021 and these findings will help the M&M team develop tools to help congregations respond to current challenges in a focused way.
In reflecting this focus, web content has been reviewed to provide focused information and tools for growing in the key qualities of faith sharing, empowering leadership and vision and direction.
The presentation ended with a slide show celebrating our church in action and encouraging support and participation, including how LCAQD responded to drought and floods, and connecting with learning and networking opportunities.
