Speaking the Gospel Workshops
God spoke. Life began.
Words are powerful. A carefully chosen word can build someone up or cut someone down.
We see and hear words used every day. On Facebook. On Twitter. Through advertising.
Isaiah says that God’s word always achieves its purpose (Isaiah 55:11). Jesus says that he has come to give life in all its fullness (John 10:10). While we know this in our hearts, some of us may feel ill equipped to speak it with our mouths. How might we develop our skills and reduce our inhibitions so that the Gospel message can flow freely through us?
In November, the Department for Ministry and Mission is sponsoring two FREE workshops titled “Speaking the Gospel Workshops”.
Essentially, these workshops (initially repeated in two locations) provide an opportunity for all who may be interested in sharing the transforming word of God in a variety of settings (lay preaching, school chapels, youth groups, fellowship meetings etc). Pastor Matt Thiele will guide participants through the practical steps required to prepare and deliver a message.
Attendees will enter into a journey of growing their capacity towards certification and celebration as people trained to continue the spoken witness of the Good News, begun at the empty tomb.
There are two workshops in different locations and is presented over a Friday evening and full day Saturday. All are welcome!
