Ipswich Lutheran Church welcomes you to District Synod 2019
We are blessed at Ipswich Lutheran Church to have the honour of hosting this year’s Synod. In our three congregations across this wonderful city, we strive to know Christ and make him known, both in our worship environments and throughout the community. Our active membership of approximately 200 people spans St. Johns in Ipswich, Bethany at Raceview, and Grace at Riverview and we are all excited to offer a Synod space with God’s love at its core.
Ipswich Lutheran Church offers a range of worship styles to fit the preference of any who come through our doors, young or old, and no matter where they currently stand in their faith journey. With traditional and contemporary music, technology that brings timeless words and practices into the modern age, and delicious morning tea no matter at which location you spend your Sunday mornings – we at Ipswich value our brothers and sisters in Christ as we all look towards our Lord whose teachings bring us together.
Within our parish exist a myriad of ministries that focus on important areas of fellowship and the community. “Engage” is our junior youth group, aimed at the children of Bethany Lutheran Primary School and beyond, which offers them a fun and relaxing environment where they can grow their friendships with each other and Jesus. “CareNet” delivers supplies to those in need, while “The Caring Corner” and “The Bargain Shop” are successful and popular opportunity shops in Riverview and Ipswich Central. Men’s Shed and Women’s Guild encourage connection between our members, with the number of small groups dotted throughout the parish building upon this sense of fellowship. Furthermore, we have hosted conferences, movie nights, and built a thriving music ministry which allows our talented musicians to express the joy of God through song.
So, we look forward to opening our doors to everybody at this year’s Synod. Together we can carry on the work of the disciples and express our love for God and each other in this beautiful world we live in.
