One church, one day, one powerful witness
One church, one day, one powerful witness
Each year, Brisbane Walk My Way becomes more than just an event. It becomes a visible expression of our church community at its best: people of all ages stepping out together in faith, fellowship and practical compassion.
On Saturday 8 August, congregations, schools, care communities, families and friends will gather again at QUT Gardens Point for what has become the largest annual gathering of our church community in Queensland. It is a special day not only because of the cause we support, but because of the witness it offers to the wider Brisbane community.
When we walk together, we show that our faith is not only something we speak about on Sundays. It is something we live. We believe every child is precious. We believe girls at risk should not be forgotten. And we believe love for our neighbour is expressed not only in words, but in action.
This year’s event will also have a particularly vibrant atmosphere, thanks to the support of local African Diaspora communities. The community hub will be filled with energy and colour through live stage performances, African singing and dancing, delicious food stalls and a warm sense of celebration. There will be something for everyone, whether you take part in the 3km or 12.5km walk, or simply come to enjoy the hub and cheer others on.
Now is a great time to encourage your congregation or community to be part of this day. Share the invitation.
Register at brisbane.walkmyway.org.au and join us for a day of joy, unity and Christian witness.
