Lutheran Services welcomes Cabanda Care
Lutheran Services welcomes Cabanda Care into its community of care
Lutheran Services has officially welcomed Rosewood’s Cabanda Care, with services transitioning on 1 April.
Cabanda Care is a residential aged care community in Rosewood, about 20km west of Ipswich, with an excellent reputation for personalised, compassionate care.
Established by the local community in 1987, Cabanda has long been a place of compassion, connection and care. That legacy will continue, with the Cabanda name, heritage and connection to Rosewood remaining central to its future.
This marks the first ownership transition to Lutheran Services in line with its Strategic Plan to double the number people it serves.
Lutheran Services Chief Executive Officer Nick Ryan said the transition brings together shared values and a common calling to serve.
“We are honoured to continue Cabanda’s legacy and feel a strong affinity with serving regional communities,” Mr Ryan said.
“As part of the Lutheran Church, we exist to serve. We see this as a continuation of that work — caring for people with dignity, kindness and respect.”
“Our focus is to work closely with residents, families and staff through this change so the service continues to reflect the needs of the community it serves. That means continuing personalised care, supported by the experience and systems of a larger organisation.”
To mark the occasion and celebrate the transition, Lutheran Services leadership met with Cabanda residents, families and staff on 1 April to personally welcome them and acknowledge the dedication and spirit that has shaped Cabanda over the years.
Cabanda consists of 71 residential aged care beds, a 52-unit retirement village, home care services and a team of more than 140 staff.
