ELCA scholarships

Each year, the ELCA’s International Leaders Program awards scholarships to individuals who are nominated by their churches/institutions. These scholarship holders pursue academic programs in a variety of fields at institutions around the world and then step into critical leadership roles in their sending communities.

Eligible individuals who are interested in applying should begin by contacting the head office of their church body or institution to inquire about its internal endorsement process. More information and application guidelines may be found here.

The deadline for completed scholarship applications is October 31, 2024.
