General Synod

In the wake of the Synod’s decision to allow the ordination of both men and women in the LCANZ, I believe these words from St Paul hold deep significance for us as a church family.

As we approach the Convention of General Synod in Adelaide, it’s crucial for us to reflect on our journey as a community of faith.

October 4-7: Convention of General Synod 2024

Congregations across the church will be able to access the sermons prepared for Synod Sunday worship at the churchwide gatherings.

The final Synod-specific webinar for delegates will be held on 11 September. All members of the church are invited to watch the recordings of three delegate webinars.

The offering from the upcoming LCANZ Convention of General Synod will go to supporting the Lutheran Study Centre in Indonesia.

Less than three months to go until General Synod! Are you praying for our church – for hope in God’s power to heal and renew us?

The General Church Board has earmarked limited funding to assist in some cases where the parish is unable to cover Synod expenses.

Parishes have been advised that they must elect their delegate/s for General Synod and return the appointment form by 31 March 2024.

A guidance concerning the LCANZ General Synod Ordination Way Forward Resolution has been resolved at the April College of Bishops Meeting.
