St John’s Classroom fund 20 refugees through lunchtime bottle collection!

December 14, 2021

“A little bit of effort on our part, can change another child’s whole future!” This was the comment from a 9-year-old boy in our classroom at St John’s Lutheran School in Kingaroy, as we talked about our recycling roster. Throughout 2021, the Year 4 students have been collecting and sorting the drinks containers around the school. It’s not a pleasant job some days, especially if the container hasn’t been emptied and the remaining flavoured milk has not responded favourably to the Queensland heat! But it’s a job that needs to… Read more

Attention Congregations with Social Media Accounts!

December 14, 2021

Pending further consultation and advice, the LCANZ Churchwide and District offices have implemented measures to… Read more

Do we have any bee-keepers, preserves-makers or Christmas cooks out there who need jars?

November 30, 2021

Both Nazareth (Woolloongabba) and St Andrew’s (Brisbane City) congregations are spring cleaning and have lots of glass jars to give away – jars that would be suitable for bottling preserves and honey. Jar sizes vary; some will need labels removed. There are also some plastic jars suitable for food storage or filling with homemade goodies as Christmas presents. To express interest please send an email to either Nazareth (nazarethlutheran@bigpond.com) or St Andrew’s (standrews.brisbane.qld@lca.org.au) (or both) to make collection/drop off arrangements. If you are not in Brisbane, but would like some… Read more
