Accompanying this Book of Reports is a separate report titled ‘LCAQD Report on Restructure Final 13.05.22’

This report has been prepared by LCAQD Lawyers for the purpose of providing confidential legal advice to the LCAQD. This report is to be provided to delegates of the 2022 LCAQD Convention of Synod.  If you are a Delegate, please email the LCAQD District Administrator (DA) at trevor.ruthenberg@qld.lca.org.au. Please identify yourself by providing your name, the congregation/entity you are a delegate for.  The DA will check your registration and then email you a copy of the report, (this may take a day or two).

IMPORTANT NOTE:  In order for this Report to retain its legal professional privilege, and not be used as evidence against the LCAQD, it is essential for this Report (and all communications referring to it, summarising parts of it, or even communicating to others that you have obtained this advice) be kept confidential by you and only be shared with those specifically authorised in writing by LCAQD District Administrator, and even then only on the basis that confidentiality be maintained.  In the interest of the LCAQD, we accordingly request that you take great care when handling this document and where it is stored, and contact the LCAQD District Administrator if in any doubt of how it should be handled.

Nominations for Boards, Councils and Committees

Members of LCAQD governing bodies are elected by the LCAQD Synod. Between Synod assemblies, casual vacancies are filled by the LCAQD District Church Board.

This year LCAQD Synod will be using Vero Voting.

On the Saturday and Sunday mornings of Convention, each registered Synod delegate will receive a text message and an email with a unique voting link for each day. This link will be the avenue to participate in the voting during the sessions.

If any technical voting issues are experienced during the Convention, there will be volunteers in the main auditorium that can assist.

We ask that all Synod delegates bring charging devices to Convention each day. Charging stations will be available to use in the main auditorium.

Since our last LCAQD Convention of Synod, your leaders have been continuing work on the Governance Change Project with the goal of further enhancing the governance model across our district.

The Governance Advisory Committee (GAC), as established by the District Church Board, is running a number of briefing sessions to present the proposed draft structure. These session will include opportunity for feedback and questions.

Synod delegates: please inform yourselves through the pre-Synod briefing sessions so that you can be prepared to contribute meaningfully at Synod.
