Growing Vital Churches
Nominations & Appointments
Members of LCAQD governing bodies are elected by the LCAQD Synod. Between Synod assemblies, casual vacancies are filled by the LCAQD District Church Board.
General Information about Nominations & Appointments
The Nominations & Appointments Committee (The Committee) works closely with the LCAQD’s governing and advisory bodies to identify their membership requirements and assist these bodies to fill casual vacancies which usually are the result of a resignation of a member between synods.
The Terms and References of the Standing Committee on Nominations (SCoN) are available here.
Members of all boards, councils, commissions and committees are generally appointed at the annual Convention of the Synod (late May/early June).
Casual vacancies on governing and advisory bodies are advertised throughout the LCAQD via Nominations & Appointments.
Application Process
We invite you to carefully and prayerfully consider whether you have the required skills and knowledge to serve on one of these bodies and make a contribution to the life and ministry of the LCAQD.
Before submitting a nomination form, please read the Terms of Reference for the body for which you are nominating so you are aware of relevant requirements.
If you know somebody who has the skills and knowledge suitable to serve on an LCAQD body, please encourage them to explore this possibility.
Nominations will open from April 2024.
All members of governing and advisory bodies are required to provide proof of their working with children check or equivalent and the completion of the relevant Safe Church training to be completed before assuming their responsibilities.
You will be notified in writing post-Synod regarding your appointment.
