Way Forward Detailed Framework has been launched
After extensive consultation with the broader community of the LCANZ, the Way Forward Project has delivered the final iteration of its response to General Synod’s request to “find a way for us to operate as ‘one church with two different practices of ordination’ .”
“Many people have contributed prayerfully and faithfully to this work, with the hope that we will together glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,” said LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith, quoting Romans 15. “The Way Forward Project appointed by GCB-CoB has diligently worked through the theological, constitutional and governance requirements to allow this directive to be accomplished.”
The Way Forward Project is now in its final phase – Preparation and Prayer – which will run until General Synod in early October. Members are invited to attend face-to-face gatherings where they will be able to ask questions about the Way Forward Detailed Framework and discuss it with others. Delegates will also be invited to attend a webinar to learn more about the Framework and their responsibilites in the lead-up to the Synod.
Please register at district@qld.lca.org.au if you would like to attend a face-to-face gathering. Details of the gatherings are listed in the infographic. Delegates will be contacted directly about the webinar.
The Framework will come before our General Pastors Conference and Convention of General Synod in September and October this year. Copies of the Way Forward Detailed Framework may be downloaded here.
