Oladi Pancakes for ALWS
Oladi Pancakes for ALWS
St John’s Lutheran congregation, Kingaroy held a fundraiser meal of Oladi pancakes on Ash Wednesday.
The inspiration for the Oladi pancakes came from a recent Hope Spot newsletter from Jonathan Krause (ALWS) supporting pancakes for Ukraine. A gold coin donation provided a serve of Oladi pancakes made by the congregation chairman, Rodney Patch, ably assisted by wife Bev.
The Patches and the Perretts sponsored the evening with the Perretts supervising the catering for the meal along with tea and coffee. All ingredients for the meal were donated and members highly commended the end product served with a selection of toppings.
The pancake’s unique flavour comes from the Kefir milk used as the wet ingredient.
The ALWS will now receive $157.00 to support Ukrainian children affected by the present war. A heavy downpour in Kingaroy preceding the start time did impact numbers attending.
The members then enjoyed a time of mingling and fellowship before moving into the church for the Ash Wednesday service led by Pastor Noel Noack.
