LYQ Camps: Life-Changing!

Just wow. How incredible is that! How amazing is our God!
There are very few opportunities in society today where young people feel safe enough to explore the idea of faith with their peers or people of the more “role model” variety.
This is what makes camping ministry so unique, so vital.
This young person got to meet God at camp through our invaluable leaders.
Camping ministry doesn’t exist without our leaders. Without our leaders, we don’t have campers saying:
“I’ve grown closer to God and grown more confident around new people” (Summer Kids Camper 23); or “I have reconnected with God after a bad church experience” (Summer CLW Camper 23).
Our incredible team of leaders, those who support them, and the community they create together is what makes camping ministry life changing. They are God’s hands and feet, they shine His light and love into these young lives, to help them feel loved, welcome, valued.
So how can you support LYQ’s camping ministry in 2023?
- Talk to us office@lyq.org.au or ph 3511 4080 about becoming a leader yourself (our camp leaders are of a wide range of ages)
- Personally encourage someone you know to be a camp leader (we are turning kids away every season due to not having enough leaders.)
- Contribute financially to help get a leader on camp who can’t afford it. You can either do that privately with a particular leader you want to support, or donate to a general “leader fund” here. Just put “leader fund” in the comments and we’ll allocate it to leaders who need help!
- Encourage your congregation to support local leaders (and campers) to get to camp.
