Christmas Blessings from Lutheran Drought Aid Qld
Christmas Blessings have been overflowing over the past few years into Lutheran Drought Aid Qld (LDAQ) with goods kindly and thoughtfully donated by various committees and congregations within the LCAQD. They have come in pamper packs, Christmas presents for young and old, supermarket vouchers and handmade creations. These generous donations help us to reach out and connect with our recipients again as we continue to journey with them in these challenging times.
This year, Lutheran Drought Aid Qld were privileged to receive the Rural Reflection devotion books from St John’s Lutheran Church Emerald to freely pass on to our drought recipients. Along with the books (we enclosed a brief message of love and encouragement in the cover), they also received a pack of beautifully handmade Christmas cards, bookmarks, Christmas tracts, locally made goat milk soap, and a small packet of M&M’s. To finish the parcel, a personalised handwritten Christmas card is added. These gifts are to show our expression of God’s love and care for them.
One of our recipients has already expressed her delight in receiving one of these packages and daily reads the devotion book with her husband. Their comment is “we can’t put this book down, we feel it’s like the Bible of today”. It really warms the heart hearing these words.
LDAQ are like a conduit between the giver and the receiver. We are humbled to receive the goods, which have been lovingly crafted and or donated allowing us to put together presents and other embellishments, to send them on their way to bring joy, hope and encouragement to those who need it.
It’s hard to believe that with the current rain event, there are farmers who still have not received much rain. Please pray for them and for those who are still struggling to recover from the drought. Please pray for our team that we can extend our reach to those who need our help.
